Lima, Ohio (WIMA) - Lima City Council passed an ordinance on Monday night allowing the Mayor to accept and administer a Safe Neighborhood Anti-Heroin Initiative Grant.

The grant will allow the city to hire two new officers- then send two current officers to transfer to the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force to fight heroin trafficking.

The funding is coming from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office- as the state continues its fight against the heroin epidemic that is currently happening.
