Lima, Ohio (WIMA) - The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office will be staffing extra patrol during the next couple weekends with area prom and graduations getting underway.

The focus on the patrol will be aimed at reducing traffic crashes- preventing underage alcohol consumption and drug abuse- and other issues with teenagers celebrating.

The Sheriff’s office hopes that by adding extra patrol on the roads- teens will have a safe and fun experience.

Parents and teachers are encouraged to talk to students and remind them about the responsibilities of safe driving and the consequences that result from using drugs and alcohol that impair driving.
