Lima, Ohio (WIMA) - The Allen Soil and Water Conservation District is conducting a sign-up with farmers interested in receiving cost share funding for establishing cover crops- controlled drainage structures and blind tile inlets.

All of these practices are effective in reducing fertilizer or nutrient loading to local streams and all the way to Lake Erie.

Interested farmers are asked to call their local Soil and Water Conservation District to set up and appointment- as sign up for these cost share funds will be conducted until depletion or October 15th.

Allen- Auglaize- Van Wert- Putnam- Hancock- Hardin- and Mercer Counties have been allotted fifty-thousand dollars.
