Lima, Ohio (WIMA) - The Ohio House of Representatives recently approved Senate Bill 150- a bill which will now require one farmer per farm operation to be certified to apply fertilizer.

Ohio Soybean Association President and Auglaize County Farmer- Jerry Bambauer- explained the significance of Senate Bill 150 being approved.

The Ohio Soybean Council and many others are supporting a 2-million dollar research project with more than 1-million coming from Ohio farmers- that will measure edge-of-field phosphorus runoff.

This research project will show how phosphorus is used in agriculture- how it leaves farm fields and how much of it is actually entering Ohio’s waterways.
