Love Waterfalls in Tucson? Go on THIS Hike!

Cyndi here! As someone who grew up in Tucson I cannot believe it took me THIS long to hike this trail. Seven Falls is exactly that.... a series of beautiful cascading waterfalls surrounded by our beautiful desert.

This is also a great time to go because the weather is PERFECT and you can avoid overheating! The payoff at the end is so worth it too. The falls are really flowing!

Here are a few pics my wife and I took along the way....

ABOUT THIS HIKE

Total Distance: 8.5 miles (take the tram to cut down to 6 miles) out and back

Difficulty: Moderate

Dogs: No

To get to the Trail Head: Head to Sabino Canyon, and pay the one time fee or show your pass. They take National Park Passes too! Hike up the Bear Canyon paved road for 1.3 ish miles. You can also take the tram to save time and cut distance off. From there you'll see the "Seven Falls" trail head sign. (as pictured above)

About this Trail: This is a pretty popular trail with locals so the path is pretty clear and marked. It depends on water levels, but when we went there were a few water crossings where getting we was unavoidable. Wear shorts and shoes you don't mind getting wet. I wore my keens, and they were great! After 3 or 4 water crossings, we switched back up the canyon and over towards the falls, which you will hear before you see! Each was took between 1.5 and 2 hours, so this is a half a day. Allow yourself some time to chill and enjoy the falls too! If you want to catch the tram back down at the trail head make sure you get back by 4:15 to catch the 4:20 tram back down. You can stay later than that, but bring a flashlight/headlamp so you can see after the sun goes down.

Don't forget a snack and PLENTY of water. My wife and I brought 6 liters between the two of us.
